Property Amenities
Our family purchased the Glen Arbor Bed and Breakfast in 2023. Since that time we have completely renovated most of the bathrooms in the bed and breakfast. And, added new paint, decorations, and bedding. We also have completely renovated the cottages and turned them into luxury condos. Our condos have the highest end finishes and features.

Meet Our On-site Innkeeper
Laura Cavender brings her warmth and creative talents to the inn after stints as ship’s cook, private chef, and assistant innkeeper. She’s been an integral part of the team at Traverse City’s Oryana Community (Food) Cooperative, and an instructor sharing a “rainbow of fresh cuisines” at the oils-and-vinegar shop Fustini’s.
We’re delighted that she’s joined us with her joyful spirit to ensure a very special experience for you. Call her at (231) 334-6789 if you have any special needs.
The Inn
Built in 1872 – we found contemporary newspapers used as insulation when we renovated – the inn was originally a boarding house for loggers. It became home over the years to the Andresen family and hosted a restaurant called the Kum-n-Dyne (above in 1939), several shops, the site for school lunches when the School House was down the street, and a bed & breakfast in 1991.
The guest cottages date from the 20’s and 30’s, with modifications to all three buildings through the 50’s and 60’s. Detailed county records for the property dating from the mid-19th century are framed in the hallway for the inquisitive. The cottages have just been completely renovated into 3 luxurious new condos for families and guests who appreciate high-end finishes.
In 2023-2024 we added significant upgrades to the Bed and Breakfast. Featuring completely new bathrooms in 4 of the rooms, new paint, bedding, and other nice upgrades.
