History Of Glen Arbor Lodging Bed and Breakfast

When the Inn was built in 1872, the family lived in this loveliest part of the B&B, just off the front porch on the main floor. Both loggers and lodgers would take their meals downstairs with the family, and then retreat upstairs to the two big bunk rooms and their well-earned rest. All this predates indoor plumbing, and for our long-time guests, they remember the two sunny bedrooms along the hallway and the bathroom as an afterthought, added at the end of the hall.

Exciting Extensive Renovations For 2025!

We are thrilled to announce that we have dedicated this entire winter season to a comprehensive renovation of our main bed and breakfast building. Upon completion, every aspect of the property will be transformed into a fresh, modern space, with the exception of the four rooms and their accompanying bathrooms that underwent a complete makeover just last year. We invite you to follow our journey as we share captivating images and updates of this exciting transformation project over the upcoming months.

As part of the extensive building renovations we are converting two rooms into one gorgeous space, which we know will be the new guest favorite. With a gem of a bathroom attached to the room. A big King bed centered in the room and the location that allows you to leave your honey reading in bed and slip out onto the porch to peek at the stars. And, a favorite detail; we’ve drawn in a special nook with a handcrafted bunk (Twin/Full) that’s perfectly built-in to the space. Being a family friendly inn, this room is perfect for a family and could fit 5 people if wanted, a crew of friends or just as comfortably house someone traveling solo or in a couple. We will post images of the new suite once it is finished.

The name Piping Plover is for the tiny endangered birds who nest in the rocks along our beaches here in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. We’re so proud to share this jewel of a room with you and look forward to May when we welcome our first guests to this re-envisioned Piping Plover Suite. ($295-$400/night depending on the season)
